Is 127th street far away from everything? I have a young family and don't want to book somewhere too far that we have to walk a great distance to.

Yes! =) Pretty much the only thing that is up that way within walking distance for little ones is northside park. Which has two playgrounds, baseball, & soccer fields. Also there is one mini golf on 124th Street.
