Assuming your trying to pose a trick question, I'll bite anyway. Its still the off season and I had nothing better to do.

There are no full historical records of the origins of cattle in the United States (thats if you don't mean North America as a whole). Cattle could have come from several places. The West Indies, Mexico, The French settlers or by transport from England during colonization.

You can also argue that it was Columbus himself who brought in livestock on his second trip to America. So technically that would make it the Spaniards.

Personally, I think it was the aliens!
