Looking for a rental on the beach (hotel / rental) for a week in July or early August 2009 that is reasonable - NOT $300 / day. Any suggestions.

Would be myself, father, son and younger daughter (age 5)

If you're going to be planning on staying on the beach during the peak season (July and August) and dont want to pay a lot of money, good luck. Most boardwalk hotels are pretty expensive during that time... unless you're fine with staying in a hoop-dee. If that's the case, you can try the Oceanic Motel at the Inlet. They're pretty cheap.. not directly on the beach, but they're pretty darn close. They're right by the Inlet parking area and the beginning of the boardwalk. The rooms are pretty small (and the bathrooms are a joke), but they're reasonable if you don't want to spend an arm and a leg. I stayed there once with my husband when we were engaged and we got a patio room. No joke... the room was big enough to fit a full size bed, a dresser and a small refrigerator. They have bigger rooms, but I've never stayed in them. The room was clean, so if that's all that matters to you, then I would contact them. If you go onto www.ococean.com, you should be able to find their website/contact info. You just have to really search around. Good luck! =)
