That’s a loaded question , personally I enjoy catching them on my own but when there is a feast to be had and the crabs are not running strong I hit the phone book.
I also prefer to pick up the crabs and eat them at home rather than doing an expensive sit down (Unless of course its BYOB).
All of the crab places seem to have a select supply when town is packed so make sure to ask the right questions….
1. Do you sell by size or are they mixed
2. Are they all male crabs or are females mixed in?
3. Are they Maryland crabs or are you getting them from down south?
4. How much for each size and how do you define the size?
5. Are they running heavy or light?
6. Do I have to order in advance to get what I want (Usually you have to do this for Jumbos)
7. Do you include paper and spices with the crabs
8. Are they steamed, can I get them un-steamed?
9. Free Hammers?
10. Is it cheaper to get a bushel or a couple dozen?

I have had great luck with the guys with the truck that sits outside of Shore Stop on Race Track rd. (Near Ocean Downs) as well as some of the places along 611. The one place that looks like a boat has some great deals on clams, shrimp, and other seafood. The place that looks like a red barn on rt 50 is usually good and the other places in and outside of OC are hit or miss. If you like fried chicken and shrimp with your all you can eat, Waterman’s is the place with the best sides.

All you can eat….
A lot of these places will serve a lot of females, and some even have a time limit. If I do all you can eat I usually try and find a place with a view. The deck on Hoopers as a lot of fun. It faces Ocean City and there is always a lot going on in the bay. Bahamas Mamas has the same sort of atmosphere and will sell jumbos by the dozen (They are usually FAT)

At last, my definition of a great crab feast:
Order jumbos or large by the dozen for a crab stand, grab some fresh sweet corn on the cob from a local produce stand…. cook up a bag or two of fries from the grocery store…. Make some fresh brochetta and grab a hard crust Italian bread from Southside Deli…. Melt Butter, have vinegar on hand and eat and drink till your SICK!!! its time for a crab feast!!!
